Hello good friends all over the world. Hope your winter season thus far has been treating you well as we approach the best holiday of the year, Christmas (or Hannukah for whom it applies)! This will be a fairly quick post today, as I am also working on a few other posts coming up this week. I tend to shoot more dressy/work looks, but have been eager to get a casual look up. One of the biggest trends right now, and pretty much a look that you just can’t go wrong with is the baggier boyfriend jean look paired with some heels and a relaxed tee or button up. During a black sunday sale at an Urban Outfitters surplus store in Sherman Oaks, I scored some awesome fashion finds that have been on my list to get for the year. When shopping, I tend to have an idea of some pieces I’m looking for, but only until I happen upon a miraculous deal–do I cave in and purchase. That is exactly what happened during this amazing Urban Sale.
The Urban Renewal high-waisted jeans I am wearing I got on sale for….wait for it….$5.00!!!! Yes, this is the lucky way in which I shop and to be honest the only way I can afford the newest fashions without breaking the bank. The moment I tried them on I fell instantly in love. The boyfriend jean has been the trickiest thing for me to find a pair that actually flatters me and doesn’t make me look like I’m wearing “mom jeans”. These high-waisted ones were great because they made my booty look nice, but kept a looser fit in the leg. Rolling them up a few times at the ankle was also a trick I used to show a little bit more of the ankle, so that when the heels come on it looks casually sexy. These are a great staple piece to have in your closet all year round. Since the jeans were so light in color, I paired them with a Cranberry chiffon plaid print button up blouse. Again, scored this for a mere $5.00–you could say I’m on a buying roll. I wore a lacy creme bralette from Urban Outfitters underneath the chiffon blouse, following the visible bra–see through top trend that is gracing style blogs and runways alike.
I love this look because it is very sexy and could easily be worn out for a casual date night or even to a bar, but paired with jeans makes it feel a little less dressed up. Since it is nearly winter, I paired the Cranberry blouse with a leather Cranberry jacket with spiked shoulder pads from Foreign Exchange. I love, love, love the tapered look of this jacket, which helps to create a great waistline. I picked this up at a sample sale a few months ago again….for a mere $5.00. Hard to believe I actually get those kind of deals all the time, but I’ve pretty much made it a personal talent of mine to spot and/or hold off on clothing items until I can score the best deal, and at those prices you pretty much can’t let those deals pass you by. To finish the look I went with gold jewelry. A Simple two-chain necklace from Ebay, and some gold midi-rings, also from Ebay. How could forget the most important accessory to any outfit, the shoe choice– being my Justfab Nude and Teal color block strappy’s. Hope you got a bit of inspiration on how to dress a baggier jean up, and look sexy while doing it! I would love to hear some feedback on the comments section below on if you like this trend, and if you have an idea on how to style your own boyfriend-jean look tag @jordyme123 on Instagram to share your look.
